U GTE klasama pobede su osvojile, na veliko iznenađenje svih koji prate endurans, Porše posade. Daleko veće iznenađenje je bila pobeda u GTE Pro klasi, gde je Porsche 911 RSR odneo pobedu u odnosu na daleko favorizovanije Aston Martin Vantage V8 posade, koje su imale dosta problema tokom trke.
Aston Martin #99, koji je bio vodeći je oko podneva, imao žestok udes na Mulzan pravcu nakon čega je i ta posada odustala od trke, ostavivši posadi #97 da se bori sa dve Porše posade. Nakon toga je izgledalo da će pobeda otići u ruke AMR, koji je želeo da pobedu posveti Alanu Simonsenu, ali je posada #97 (Tarner/Muke/Dambrek) prokockala vođstvo koje je imala tokom većeg dela trke. Kišni uslovi su apsolutno pogodovali Porsche posadama, a u samom finišu je sreća okrenula leđa AMR posadama koje su u pogrešnom trenutku odlučile da odu u boks, tako da je to bila prekretnica trke.
Ovom pobedom je Porše fabrički tim zabeležio svoju prvu pobedu (u ovom slučaju, klasnu) prvi put posle 1998. godine. Aston Martin posada #97 je trku završila kao treća.
I pored značajno sporijeg tempa, na četvrtom mestu trku je završila posada #74 Corvette Racing tima (Magnusen/Tejlor/Garsia), koji su trku završili sa tri kruga zaostatka za vodećom Porše posadom.
Debitantski nastup SRT Viper GTS-R automobila je bio u znaku brojnih odlazaka u garaže, ali su oba V10 pogonjena automobila završila trku, pozicije 8. i 9.
U GTE Am klasi pobedu je osvojila posada #76 IMSA Performance Matmut (Narak/Vernej/Bure) koji su uspeli da preuzmu vođstvo u 11. času trke i da od tog trenutka tu poziciju čvrsto drže sve do kraja. Drugoplasirana posada AF Corse #55 je trku završila sa jednim krugom zaostatka, dok je treće mesto osvojila AF Corse #61 posada, takođe u F458 Italia trkačkom automobilu.
