Sudeći po vozačkoj postavi, Toyota želi rezultate veoma brzo. Za Toyota tim će u sezoni 2012 voziti Alex Wurz (Peugeot), Nicolas Lapierre (ORECA) i Kazuki Nakajima (Toyota YDP).
Kao što smo već pisali, Toyota će od naredne sezone nastupati u okviru FIA WEC takmičenja, s time da se neće klasifikovati u generalnom plasmanu tako da Toyota verovano planira da propusti neke od trka. Hibridno pogonjeni prototip će, naravno, biti prisutan (ili je bar takav plan) na 24 časa Le Mana.
Vozački kadar je veoma kvalitetan i sastoji se od dva iskusna endurans vozača – Alex Wurz i Nicolas Lapierre, dok će treći vozač doći iz Toyota programa za razvoj mladih vozača – Kazuki Nakajima. Ova tri vozača će kao primarni cilj imati da razviju novi prototip tokom kompletne sezone koju će Toyota Motorsport tretirati kao "uvodnu". Prvo pojavljivanje novog prototipa se očekuje na nekoj od evropskih rundi FIA WEC takmičenja.
Alex Wurz je poznat kao tehnički potkovan, brz i konzistentan. Ima dve pobede na 24 časa Le Mana (1996. i 2009), a u svom rezimeu ima i nekoliko Formula 1 podijumskih finiša. Wurz je i dalje najmlađi pobednik u generalnom plasmanu na 24 časa Le Mana.
Nicolas Lapierre je posle GP2 i A1GP angažmana prešao 2007. u endurans takmičenja kao vozač ORECA tima. Nakajima je prošao kroz Formula 3, GP2 na putu ka Formula 1 takmičenju.
